Pokémon GO: Cancelled gatherings return to Europe

Pokemon Go Sells Out of Safari Zone Tickets in Less Than Two Minutes

Remember those cancelled Pokémon GO “Safari Zone” gatherings? The Safari Zone events are coming back this October.

On October 7 events will be held in shopping centres in Copenhagen, Denmark, and in Prague, The Czech Republic. On October 14 the safari will hit Stockholm, Sweden, and Amstelveen, The Netherlands. Participants can expect to find special eggs from PokéStops, activated lures, and hard-to-find Pokémon. Tickets will be available at each shopping centre’s Facebook page shortly. You just have to be over 13 to attend.

The Safari Zone events were first scheduled to take place in August, but were postponed due to a similar event that took place in Chicago, which quickly descended into chaos. Over 20,000 paid $20 for a ticket, only to discover that they couldn’t actually play the game due to server problems and overloaded cell towers. A class action lawsuit was proposed against Niantic as a result of the bungled festival.

Fest attendees, many of whom like Plaintiff traveled to Chicago from other states or countries, had the reasonable expectation of arriving at Grant Park for a day of capturing rare 3D monsters with their friends, families, and other so-called Pokemon Go ‘Trainers,’ but the reality of the Fest fell flat in comparison to Defendant’s promises, the suit said. Upon reaching Grant Park, Fest attendees encountered a ‘three-mile line’ and an unplayable Game.

The upcoming Safari Zone events take place at the following shopping centres:

October 7th, 2017

    • Fisketorvet—Copenhagen, Denmark
    • Centrum Černý Most—Prague, The Czech Republic

October 14th, 2017

    • Mall of Scandinavia—Stockholm, Sweden
    • Stadshart Amstelveen—Amstelveen, The Netherlands
