Pokémon GO: List of Generation I and II species that DO NOT nest

List of Generation I and II species that DO NOT nest

Asked by a Follower on Facebook: “Good day! Do larvitar’s nest too or at least has a biome? Thank you

In order to answer this question completely, we decided to create a list of all Pokémon species that do not nest. We get questions like these a lot, especially this one: “Where can I find <insert specie> Nests in my town?”

In order to clarify confusion, let’s recap what’s known and confirmed by research:

  • not all Pokémon species create or have nests
  • nests are places where you can regularly find a certain Pokémon specie
  • you can find a map of known Nests in your area using The Silph Road’s Nest Atlas.

With that in mind, here’s the list of Pokémon species that DO NOT nest:

Category Pokemon
Pokémon obtainable from 10KM eggs Dratini, Pineco, Larvitar, Mantine, Gligar, Chansey, Mareep, Sudowoodo, Aerodactyl, Snorlax, Lapras, Skarmory, Miltank
Tyrogue family Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop
Amorphic Pokémon Dito, Porygon, Grimer, Koffing
Others Stantler, Phanpy, Togetic, Unown, Lickitung, Tangela

And what about biomes?

As for biomes, almost all of these Pokémon have an assigned biome, however, it doesn’t have anything to do with Nests. For example, it’s known that Mantine is specific to Sea and Lake biome and it’s rumored that Larvitar is specific to mountain biome.
