Pokemon News: Niantic Halloween Event, Nintendo 3DS Ultra Sun and Moon and movie trailers

Pokémon GO players are eagerly awaiting the official Niantic announcement for an upcoming Halloween event for the game, after the official Pokémon Company website appeared to confirm something for the game as part of a “Spooky Halloween Roundup!”

The website goes on to say:

October is here, and that means one thing: it’s time to start gearing up for Halloween! To help celebrate this spooky season, we’ve gathered together all the frightful fun that we’ve been working hard to bring you. Where will you go first? Make your choice, and prepare for a hauntingly good time!”

Immediately after this message, the website then teases “Ghostly Goodies in Pokémon GO” and saying “The Halloween season is a special time in Pokémon GO. Plenty of good stuff is coming to the game later this October, and we can’t wait to get out and about to see what sort of excitement we can scare up while catching new Pokémon to fill out our PokéDex.

More details about the Pokémon GO Halloween event are supposedly coming soon, however, the wording of the announcement from the official Pokémon website, in particular, the mention of “catching new Pokémon,” has lead a lot of fans to suggest we could get a surprise launch for Gen 3.

Last year’s Halloween event saw an increase in Ghost Type Pokémon like Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar and this year the trio are likely to be joined by Gen 2 Ghost Pokemon Misdreavus.

But if Gen 3 was to be released it could also see more Ghost Pokémon released, such as Shuppet, Banette, Mega Banette, Duskull and Dusclops.

3DS Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

For those who don’t recall, in Pokémon Sun and Pokemon Moon, Ultra Wormholes were strange pockets of space that mysteriously appeared throughout the Alola region and were shrouded in mystery.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, these Ultra Wormholes return and players can ride on the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala to travel through them to reach the various worlds that lie beyond.

Players can visit many different worlds via these Ultra Wormholes—including Ultra Megalopolis!

The world of Ultra Megalopolis is a place that has had its light stolen by Necrozma. Within this world, a mysterious tower-like building shines with brilliant light but whatever waits at the top of this structure is currently unknown.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon players will meet the Ultra Recon Squad, a strange group that have come from a world that lives beyond an Ultra Wormhole.
