Pokemon Go NEWS: Niantic Halloween event plans could include Gen 3

Pokemon GO fans have been treated to some good news this week, as sources seemingly confirm a new Halloween event for 2017.

The Pokémon GO Halloween celebration was one of the first in-game events to be introduced to the Niantic app last year. And according to Slashgear sources, the Halloween event will return in October 2017.

Last year’s Halloween event saw an increase in Ghost Type Pokémon like Ghastly, Haunter, and Gengar. As the report points out, these three Pokemon are likely to be joined by Gen 2 Pokémon Misdreavus.

The site also suggests that Dark Pokemon will see increased spawn rates during the event, but why stop there?

Multiple Ghost Type Pokémon made their debut in Gen 3, which makes Halloween the perfect time to introduce a selection of brand new Pokémon to the game.

As previously reported, Gen 3 source code was recently discovered by Pokémon GO dataminers, which must surely mean that new Pokemon are on their way.

Gen 3 Ghost Types include Shuppet, Banette, Mega Banette, Duskull and Dusclops, which is a nice selection for a limited time event. Niantic is yet to make any official announcements, so stay tuned for more information.
