Pokémon GO: Zapdos countdown, Moltres end time to bring new Legendary Raid as Lugia stays

Zapdos is Coming to Pokemon Go Very Soon!

In less than 24 hours Pokémon GO will introduce Zapdos, a new Legendary Raid Pokémon for trainers to battle and catch, replacing Moltres, who in turn replaced Articuno.

Niantic announced recently that the game will be rotating out the Legendary Pokémon in the game, having first introduced Articuno following Pokémon GO Fest.

Niantic’s announcement at the time largely addressed the failings of Pokémon GO Fest, but also explained that Moltres would take over for Articuno on July 31st and in turn Moltres will be replaced by Zapdos on Monday, August 7.

The dates for each Legendary were revealed as:

• Articuno (Team Mystic) released on Saturday, July 22 and available through Monday, July 31.
• Moltres (Team Valor) to be released on Monday, July 31 and available through Monday, August 7.
• Zapdos (Team Instinct) to be released on Monday, August 7 and available through Monday, August 14.

As to what time Moltres will depart introducing Zapdos, we can’t say for sure, as Niantic has still failed to provide any timings, but assuming it follows the same pattern as Articuno, it will likely be replaced Tuesday 8th at 1AM GMT.

This has also been echoed by Trainer Tips Nick, who tweeted:

“Moltres raids appeared at about 4 PM PST. It should stick around until the same time.”
